CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — Dartmouth College has eased some coronavirus-related restrictions on campus now that the number of students testing positive has declined and there have been no major guideline violations, school officials said.
The school on Monday reopened Dartmouth’s Baker-Berry Library, the alumni gym, fitness center and other buildings for students and employees who are approved to be on campus.
Students should continue to refrain from visiting one another in their rooms or gathering in hallways, officials said. Common spaces and kitchens in residence halls remain closed, and “grab and go” dining is still in effect.
“Please continue to mask up everywhere, both on campus and in town; face coverings are critically important in reducing disease transmission, even if you have been vaccinated,” the leaders of a COVID-19 task force at the school wrote.

Anticipating a busy spring and summer, the New Hampshire Lodging and Restaurant Association and the state’s community college system are working together to train food industry workers about coronavirus safety precautions.
The new “NH Promise” program provides free online training for restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops and other eateries. Those who complete the program will be awarded a certificate from the Community College System of New Hampshire, and establishments where all supervisors and at least 25% of front-line staff earn certification will get a “NH Promise” decal to display.
Officials said the industry has learned a lot during the pandemic, and the goal is to boost confidence in on-site dining as warmer weather approaches.
More than 77,000 people have tested positive for the virus in New Hampshire, including 219 cases announced Tuesday. One additional death was announced, bringing the total to 1,185.
The seven-day rolling average of daily new cases in New Hampshire has decreased over the past two weeks, going from 375 new cases per day on Feb. 21 to 205 new cases per day on March 7.
