Award for advancing diversity, equity, inclusion – Mayo Clinic Health System

MANKATO, Minn. ― As part of its commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, Mayo Clinic Health System in Southwest Minnesota awarded a total of $20,000 in grants to several nonprofit organizations in the region.

Funding for these grants comes from Mayo Clinic’s EverybodyIN Fund for Change. Last summer, Mayo Clinic staff contributed nearly $89,000 to the fund with the goal of supporting efforts to advance racial equity and inclusion. Mayo Clinic’s match brought the fund’s total to $200,000. More than 100 organizations located in communities that Mayo Clinic serves applied for the grant funding.

“There are numerous worthy organizations in our area communities dedicated to equity, diversity and inclusion, and we are pleased to be able to support several of them with EverybodyIN funding,” says Laura Bowman, regional director of community relations and strategic partnerships.

A total of 36 organizations located in Arizona, Florida, Minnesota and Wisconsin will receive a portion of the $200,000 in grant dollars.

The following Southwest Minnesota organizations will receive funding:

In addition to these grants, Mayo Clinic Health System provides ongoing Hometown Health Grants to improve the health and wellness of our communities.

Mayo Clinic Health System consists of clinics, hospitals and other facilities that serve the health care needs of people in Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin. The community-based providers, paired with the resources and expertise of Mayo Clinic, enable patients in the region to receive highest-quality physical and virtual health care close to home.
